The graduation ceremony of the class of 2024 was very colourful. It was held in the beautiful venue of ASTU Stadium in the presence of high ranking government officials and dignitaries. In his welcoming speech Dr. Lemi Guta, the president of ASTU, presented the status of the university by noting that ASTU is graduating one thousand and two (1002) students in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Dr. Alemu Sime, Minister of Transport and Logistics & the guest of honour congratulated the University for its Exemplary Role in research, academic endeavors, technology transfer and community services. The minister also urged the university to keep the momentum and plan to achieve more by excelling in technology transfer endeavors.
Dr. Alemu also congratulated the graduates and their families. The minister reiterated that Ethiopia has got immense natural resources and hence it is high time that technical personnel such as the new graduates shall help it harness these great potentials.
The graduates received a wide range of prizes on the occasion. The Top scorers from all the schools received engraved crystal; similarly, top scorer female students from all schools received the same prize. The top scorer in the dual major/minor and fast track received laptop computer. Finally the top of the class of 2024 received the prestigious trophy!
