Congratulations to the Agro-Business Idea Competition (ABIC2024) Winner from Adama Science and Technology University!
Office of University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer, Entrepreneurship Center of Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the Agro-Business Idea Competition (ABIC2024), a flagship event of GIZ's STEP III project.
Over the past four months, this journey has showcased the entrepreneurial spirit and ingenuity of students from across four universities including ASTU.
The competition unfolded in three exciting phases: entrepreneurship training, business incubation support, and business idea competition. As a part of the ABIC2024, top two were selected for the final national pitch competition representing ASTU after university-level pitch competition held among the five business ideas under incubation on August 17, 2024.
For the national pitch competition, eight teams, two from each participating university, competed fiercely, presenting their groundbreaking ideas to a distinguished panel of juries in Addis Ababa on August 27, 2024, with [Top 3 Teams] emerging as winners.
A special shout-out to the team from Adama Science and Technology University for their impressive, “Smart Temperature Controller for Poultry Farms” MVP, which secured 2nd place. As part of their prize, the top three teams will receive in-kind support from the R&D Group, valued at $5,000, to further develop their innovative solutions and bring their ideas to life.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the support provided from our university, mentors, and all involved for this huge achievement.
