ASTU Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Manufacturing Industries

Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Oromia Industrial Parks Development Corporation, Horizon Addis Tyre Manufacturing, and OProduce Group on March 25, 2025, at the ASTU ICT Smart Room. This partnership aims to strengthen human resource development, enhance institutional capacity, and promote research and technology transfer.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Lemi Guta, the President of ASTU, warmly welcomed executives and staff from the three manufacturing industries. He emphasized the university's commitment to translating the MoU into action to benefit the nation, highlighting ASTU's focus on research areas that align with the needs of the manufacturing sector.
Mrs. Senait Mebre, General Manager of the Oromia Industrial Parks Development Corporation, underscored the significance of collaborating with ASTU, noting its crucial role in achieving the objectives outlined in the MoU.
Similarly, Engineer Martha Belay, CEO of OProduce Group, described the agreement as a major milestone, particularly in advancing ICT infrastructure and facilitating human resource exchange.
Mr. Solomon Assefa, a manager at Horizon Addis Tyre Manufacturing, expressed gratitude for ASTU’s warm reception and reaffirmed his company’s commitment to implementing the MoU effectively.
Dr. Lemi Guta, President of ASTU, emphasized the importance of collaboration among all parties involved. He announced ASTU’s readiness to provide short-term training programs for industry professionals and contribute to the country's digital transformation. He also called for shared resources to enhance production quality.

“This partnership marks a significant step in strengthening the skills and capabilities of ASTU students and industry experts while fostering innovation for the national growth,” Dr. Lemi added.
