The top management of ASTU led by, Dr. Lemi Guta, president of Adama Science and Technology University, visited the Preschool established by Mrs. Japa in Hangatu district in Adama City and provided support for 200 needy students. The university management members also visited the indigenous charity organization established by Wagayehu Deti, which focuses on children and widows, and provided educational material such as books, backpacks, notebooks, and pencils for 25 students.
On the occasion Dr. Lemi Guta underscored that ASTU has been continuously supporting three community schools with their full budget and expenses. He noted that ASTU has been rendering various community services. Dr. Lemi stated that that the support that is being provided is part of the process of creating the next generation of caretakers and managers of the country.
He recalled that he laid the foundation stone for the construction of classrooms at Japa Preschool to support this exemplary work an thereby replace the inconvenient classrooms with better ones. It was reported that the university supported the two organizations with an outlay of 430,000 Birr.
