In his opening speech, Dr. Alemu Dissasa, VPRTT, noted that the program is organized to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship as well as share experiences and thereby create enabling platforms to achieve better results in the sector. He also stated that ASTU is focusing on organizing entrepreneurship, innovation and technology development platforms to provide special training to students to develop original ideas and innovations.
The associate dean of ASTU-EDC, Mr. Fasika Firew, pointed out that students with innovative ideas are competing at international level and creating jobs. He noted that the center provides technical supports for students to develop their ideas.
Alemtsehay Dersolign, head of the Innovation Development Desk at the Ministry of Skills and Innovation, underscored that the sector should focus on creating a favorable environment for everyone to bring about change. On the occasion, ASTU alumni who turned their innovative ideas into business and embarked on production shared their experiences.
