KOICA (Korean International Cooperation Agency), which has a history of cooperation mainly in the ICT sector, held discussion with ASTU officials on ways of enhancing the teaching, research, and application capacity of the university. During the discussion, documents highlighting the status and current work activities of ASTU have been presented. Dr. Alemu Disasa, Vice President of Research and Technology Transfer, and Dr. Solomon Tiruneh, Vice President of Administration and Student Affairs responded to queries from the KOICA delegation.

Doctor Alemu Dissasa noted that one of the reasons for ASTU's achievement so far is because of its successful collaboration, especially in the ICT sector. He stated that the university needs international cooperation to gain expertise, skills, and technology transfer. Similarly, Dr. Solomon Tiruneh, has also stressed the necessity of cooperation in the areas of research and capacity building. Doctor Solomon underscored that ASTU needs state-of- the art lab facilities and infrastructure.
