Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) in collaboration with Construction Management Institute (CMI) organized Building Information Modeling (BIM) training which was held in ASTU from August 20, 2023 to September 4, 2023.
Twenty-two staff from School of the school of Civil Engineering and Architecture, School of Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering and School of Electrical Engineering and computing, and ASTU Construction Office successfully completed the training. The trained staff members were certified by Autodesk Authorized Training Center after receiving training in BIM-Structure, BIM-Architecture, BIM-MEP and BIM-Project Management Technologies.
The top management of ASTU led by, Dr. Lemi Guta, president of Adama Science and Technology University, visited the Preschool established by Mrs. Japa in Hangatu district in Adama City and provided support for 200 needy students. The university management members also visited the indigenous charity organization established by Wagayehu Deti, which focuses on children and widows, and provided educational material such as books, backpacks, notebooks, and pencils for 25 students.

STEM Center (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) held a recognition and closing ceremony for the students trained in the summer program. The center trains students to help them interest in develop science and engineering. The training includes kids programming, robotics, basic outreach, intermediate outreach and advanced outreach programs.
Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) hosted a validation workshop for the consultancy project titled "Development of Geospatial Database for Manufacturing Industries in Oromia," on August 24, 2023. The project was signed between ASTU and Oromia Investment and Industry Bureau (OIIB) on April 7, 2023. The project aims to develop a geospatial database of manufacturing industries and analyze their existing situation in three urban centers in the Oromia Region: Adama, Mojo, and Bishoftu including Dukem sub-city.
ASTU held a colourful graduation ceremony
The graduation ceremony of the class of 2023 was rather very colourful. On the occasion, three awardees received honorary degrees. These are first lady W/ro Zinash Tayachew, Mr. Tabor Wami and Mr. Zegeye Asfaw.
